That’s right folks. This week’s post is all about how you can save money and dine out at the same time. The truth is, most people spend way too much money when they dine out, and most of it is spent unnecessarily. There are plenty of tips and tricks you can use to your advantage to avoid paying top dollar at restaurants. Believe it or not, it is possible to go out to eat without being afraid to check your bank account afterwards.
Check out the blog below, and please be sure to share this post with friends and neighbors at Ellie apartments on East Oltorf. If you know someone who’s been spending a small fortune on restaurant food, this blog could provide them with the advice they need.
Give out your email address freely
Don’t be afraid to give your email address to sites like Groupon, OpenTable and Yelp. These websites do nothing but send out coupons, and you could be the beneficiary of those coupons. If you can remember to check your inbox before you head out, you’ll likely find a coupon or two for a new restaurant in town. To take advantage of these money-saving offers, all you have to do is be a little flexible with your dinner plans. Follow the coupons, folks, for they will lead you to the promised land of free food.
Be an early bird.
Most people go to dinner around 7. For that reason, most restaurants don’t offer any deals at that time. Very few people go to dinner at 5:30 or 6. For that reason, restaurants have to offer lots of deals in order to drive business. You can take advantage of these deals by going to dinner early, or avoiding dinner altogether and going for lunch. The general rule of thumb is, the earlier you eat, the cheaper your meal will be. Happy hours are good for more than just drinks, so find a restaurant with a happy that includes appetizers and enjoy your super affordable check at the end of the meal!
Take it to go
Let’s imagine that a new restaurant just opened up down the street. You’ve heard rave reviews about their burger, and you've been dying to try it. If you want to try new food, the obvious thing to do is order it to go. When you order to go, you don’t have to tip. You don't have to order drinks either, because whatever drinks you were going to buy at the restaurant can be purchased elsewhere for a cheaper price. Take this advice folks; enjoy your restaurant food in the comfort of your living room and save some money while you’re at it.
Those are all the helpful suggestions we’ve got for now, residents! We’d like to take this moment to thank you all for coming back to read the second edition of the Ellie Blog.
